General Clarifications for 2007:
• The Future Stars Program will use the Age Group Competition Program’s Compulsory
Presentation deductions of: small = 0.1, medium = 0.2, large = 0.3 and fall = 0.5.
• The age 12 division will have the routines beginning with a start value of 9.2. There will be 3
designated bonus skills, valued at .2 each and .2 virtuosity. This start value pertains to the FS
program only.
• The age 12 Routines have been changed to a compulsory format. This format meets the
requirements of the Age Group Competition Program and can be directly utilized in Level 9
Competition without change.
• On Vault: The under-arm swing technique or arm circle – Please note that the primary emphasis
of these terms is to have the athlete move his arms to a position behind his center of gravity and
then move the arms forward below the height of the shoulders during the hurdle to the board
contact phase of the vault. This can be accomplished using a circling type action or an armswing
action. The goal is to encourage an arm action which will aide in the efficient “loading” of
the board at contact and to encourage a body position that will facilitate a strong rotation off of
the board.
• The age 12 Horizontal Bar routine includes a Jam.
• The Flexibility routine has been rewritten and now includes a Back Walkover from the Bridge
position, demonstrating shoulder flexibility and finishes in a standing salute.
• Trampoline has been added as an additional event for next quadrennium. The routines have
been written and are included in this document. The plan is to include Trampoline at the 2007
National Evaluation as a clinic offering and to begin competition on Trampoline as an event in
2008.
